- – started vehicle, NO CEL ON – performed scan, NO ENGINE CODES – oil level slightly above the minimum level. Condition ok. – started vehicle multiple times and road tested vehicle to enable start/stop to occur. Starter makes a loud metallic scraping noise with every startup. – lifted vehicle and visually inspected starter assembly – starter assembly, cables, and hardware show no signs of external damage or other obvious concerns – NEED TO REMOVE STARTER TO INSPECT STARTER PINION GEAR AND FLYWHEEL FOR DAMAGE.
